Not only have I visited such, I have setup several and been asked why my "munch gatherings" have grown so much faster than others.

Yep. This is definitely more of a place to relax and talk than a meet market. You don't get links to people's profiles unless you log in, there's no private messages here, ... both are things I love about this site because the presence of either/both would further discourage women from posting.
You'll have (slightly) better luck with bondage.com, alt.com, collarme.com, or your best bet remains non-cyber communities. Fetlife.com is a great site for keeping in touch with real people you know, and has discussion groups and listings of local events, but I don't think it's very good for meeting new people because that's not what most people sign up there for.
